Contours of Flight #3 is part of a series of abstract hand inked and hand pulled collograph monoprints which draws on my stained glass and mosaic work to create images that appear to be in motion, engaged in some aspect of flight. AS MEMORY FADES, a hand pulled, two step ink on paper monoprint is my attempt, through the use of layered colors and lines to convey the conflicting emotions and to capture the sorrow, the poignancy and the courage I saw in my mother as her memory faded in her final years. Matted and framed to 16” x 12”. $350
Reaching for the Sun, a dark field monotype, is an experimental piece in which I tried out some new (at least to me) inks and inking techniques as well as exploring a non standard format – a long, narrow, vertically composed image. I like the result, and plan to do some more, even if it means I’ll have to work on building long, narrow frames. 15″ x 2″, matted and framed to 21 1/2″ x 8″.
Cursive #2 is a hand inked and hand pulled monoprint which uses a collographic plate and a red/black palette on watercolor paper to evoke the experience of reading handwriting in the digital age. The inspiration for this piece was my trying to decipher one of my prescriptions. The image is 4″ x 14″, matted to 8″ x 18″
